David Nemer

Biographical Sketch

David S. Nemer is a retired Math teacher who was elected to the CUSD Board of Education in 2013. He worked for Claremont Unified School District in various capacities for over 30 years, teaching at San Antonio High School, Claremont Community Day School, and Claremont High School. Dave also served as Administrative Designee, and in leadership roles on several site and district committees. Dave was an active member of Claremont Faculty Association, as a site rep for 18 years and on the CFA Executive Board for 10 years.

As a member of the CUSD School Board, Dave has served as President, Vice President, and Clerk, liaison to Claremont Educational Foundation and Claremont After-School Programs, and Commissioner of the Baldy View Regional Occupation Program. Dave has participated in all California School Board Association Annual Conferences since 2013 and in five Legislative Action Days in Sacramento.

In addition to his work with CUSD, Dave has been a member of the League of Woman Voters for many years in various leadership positions. He was also a founding member of EdNet. For five years in the 1980s he worked as a registered stockbroker. Dave has actively participated in local political commentary for over 30 years via multiple modes of communication.

Dave was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has degrees in Psychology from Northwestern University and Claremont Graduate School. Dave and his wife Ann have two adult children who attended CUSD schools and graduated from CHS in the 1990s.
